About Rotary Wheels Hit the Road
What is it?
Rotary Wheels Hit the Road is a friendly competition among GLP Rotarians to share the impact WE are making through the GLP and recruit others to join our efforts!
Why?
The economy is tight and matching funds are depleted. Also, this is the first year in recent memory that the GLP was not able to spread the word about our projects through a booth at the RI Convention in Birmingham. More than ever, we need YOU to help get new clubs on board! Join your fellow Rotarians by “hitting the road” to share the news about the GLP with other clubs in your area.
Our goal:
To recruit at least 15 new clubs for the GLP in the current Rotary year.
How:
It’s as simple as scheduling GLP presentations at nearby clubs in your area. We can provide everything you need, including brochures and a PowerPoint slideshow. (Just email literacyproject@fuse.net to request a marketing kit for your presentation.) After you give the presentation, share the club’s contact information with us (club name, district, club contact, email address, and the date you gave the presentation) to earn points for your efforts. Here’s how the point system will work:
- 1 point – give presentation
- 2 points – give presentation and get contact information
- 5 points – club joins GLP efforts and makes a pledge
To get credit for your club, email literacyproject@fuse.net with all the necessary information after you give the presentation.
Deadline:
December 15th. Presentations must be given between July 1st and December 15th, 2009, in order to receive credit. Winners will be announced on December 18th.
Prizes:
1st place: Free trip on GLP Delivery Tour (Jan. 29-Feb.7, 2010)
* land portion only (value: $1,375), airfare not included, no cash value in place of trip
* must have at least 10 points to win
2nd place: $100 Visa gift card
3rd, 4th, and 5th place: Guatemalan coffee and textile
