Como resultado, los estudiantes se aburren, los padres concluyen que la escuela no vale la pena, y la tasa de deserci\u00f3n aumenta. Un 80% de ni\u00f1os ind\u00edgenas que empiezan el primer grado abandonan la escuela antes de llegar a sexto grado. Sin las destrezas necesarias para la lectura, estos ni\u00f1os entran a su vida adulta sin la preparaci\u00f3n necesaria para manejar su complejidad; as\u00ed como entender un estado de cuenta, un peri\u00f3dico, o una papeleta de votaci\u00f3n. Sin estas destrezas, seguir\u00e1n siendo un blanco f\u00e1cil de explotaci\u00f3n e injusticia, y el ciclo de la pobreza continuar\u00e1 para ellos y sus familias.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_fullwidth_header][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Un nuevo modo de ense\u00f1ar&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #bd4148;\">Un nuevo modo de ense\u00f1ar<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>El programa Lectura de COED, empodera a maestros de las escuelas primarias con capacitaciones, con el fin de ense\u00f1ar la lectura de modo activo y divertido para sus alumnos, y les provee con libros de alta calidad para facilitarlas clases. Los maestros participan en 2 a\u00f1os de capacitaci\u00f3n intensiva y reciben apoyo individual y la instrucci\u00f3n constante durante visitas individualizadas en el aula. Los participantes tambi\u00e9n reciben aproximadamente de 60 a 192 libros de alta calidad para ni\u00f1os, los cuales les dan la oportunidad de implementar efectivamente el programa y leerle a sus estudiantes todos los d\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>Maestros con este entrenamiento ayudan a transformar a sus estudiantes en alumnos m\u00e1s activos. Incrementando la lectura y las habilidades de escritura, los ni\u00f1os ind\u00edgenas logran m\u00e1s en la escuela, contin\u00faan con su educaci\u00f3n, vencen los desaf\u00edos y luchas causados por la baja alfabetizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_video src=&#8221;https:\/\/youtu.be\/AF2RinAcoLI&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; max_width=&#8221;80%&#8221; module_alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_video][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;La metodolog\u00eda&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #bd4148;\">La metodolog\u00eda<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Los maestros utilizan libros \u00a0de pr\u00e1ctica de estrategias\u00a0 para leer en voz alta y as\u00ed\u00a0 ganar el inter\u00e9s de los ni\u00f1os involucr\u00e1ndolos en el pensamiento cr\u00edtico. Los estudiantes dramatizan las historias d\u00e1ndole vida al texto. Tambi\u00e9n cuentan las historias en sus propias palabras y usan dibujos para demostrar su entendimiento. Los ni\u00f1os desarrollan a\u00fan m\u00e1s sus habilidades literarias al escribir sus propias historias originales \u00a0concernientes a sus vidas.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, Fernando Augusto Gonz\u00e1lez de siete a\u00f1os, separado de sus padres a la edad de tres a\u00f1os cuando ellos emigraron a los Estados Unidos para buscar trabajo; recientemente escribi\u00f3 un libro sobre el cielo nocturno. En \u00e9l describe c\u00f3mo ve las caras de sus padres en las estrellas y \u00a0c\u00f3mo esto lo hace sentirse cerca de ellos aunque vivan lejos de \u00e9l.<\/p>\n<p>La metodolog\u00eda inequ\u00edvoca y simple del programa Lectura, r\u00e1pidamente crea vocabulario, refuerza la comprensi\u00f3n lectora, crea confianza y competencia al trabajar con el lenguaje escrito, y hace que el proceso de aprendizaje sea m\u00e1s significativo. Los maestros que participan en el programa Cultura por la Lectura incrementan sus habilidades, comparten su sabidur\u00eda y ense\u00f1anza con los dem\u00e1s maestros de otros institutos, y promueven la alfabetizaci\u00f3n en las clases.<\/p>\n<p>Los ni\u00f1os que se benefician del programa adquieren habilidades de lectura mejoradas, as\u00ed como los libros que han escrito en la escuela, los cuales comparten con sus familias, amigos y vecinos.
