Leave a Legacy

Ensure that your impact and values will endure for generations.

We know you believe in the importance of sustainability—both for our projects in Guatemala and for the organization as a whole. That’s why a group of supporters have joined together to ensure that their support will continue to bring educational opportunities to Guatemalan students for generations to come through our Legacy Society.

The Legacy Society is made up of supporters who have decided to include CoEd in their estate plans.  These gifts help support the schools and students CoEd serves far into the future.

There are many ways for you to remember CoEd in your plans. The easiest and most common is to name CoEd as a beneficiary in your will, insurance policy, or IRA. You can designate a specific amount, but often people choose to set aside a percentage of their assets to the organization upon their passing or upon the passing of both spouses.

It’s easy to do. For language you can include in your will, or to learn about other ways you can meet both your financial and philanthropic goals through legacy giving to CoEd, please download our giving guide.

By setting up a charitable remainder trust benefiting CoEd, we found an avenue for giving that will not only support education for generations, but also makes sound financial sense for us personally. It is truly a ‘win/win.’

I know that together, all of us who are a part of CoEd can help thousands more students receive an even better education in the years to come. That’s why my wife and I decided to leave the children of Guatemala in our will. We wanted to do good in the world, were impressed by CoEd’s efficiency, and felt peace of mind knowing that our donation would be in good hands.

It is never too soon to begin thinking about leaving a legacy. The amount one is able to leave is not important. What is important is supporting organizations that are meaningful. CoEd has and continues to do marvelous work in Guatemala to improve individuals’ lives and, as a result, the nation’s economy. That is what is important to me and why I have included CoEd in my will.
