Director, Guatemala 

• Former rural development coordinator for C.A.R.E. in Alta Verapaz
• Graduate of San Carlos University (BA, Agronomic Engineering in Renewable Natural Resources)

As Director of the Guatemala office, Horacio manages and oversees the Guatemala office and supports the creation of new rules and strategies.  He is also involved in program design, implementation, and assessment as well as strategic planning, creating business plans, and gathering measurable results.

Maritza Rodriguez de Gonzalez
Administrative Assistant 

• Experience as an assistant for various private companies
• Studying Business Administration & Information Systems in FISICC-IDEA, Galileo University, Guatemala City

As Administrative Assistant, Maritza provides support with phone calls.  She also coordinates messaging and provides administrative support to the Textbook Program.

Textbook Program Division

Mario Yac
Associate Manager, Textbook Division/Developing Projects Manager 

• Former Administrative Principal of Cristiano Nueva Sibilia School, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala
• Two years experience coordinating educational projects for the Guatemalan Ministry of Education
• Studying Information Systems at Mariano Gálvez University
• Graduate of Rafael Landívar University (MA, Philosophy)

As Associate Manager of the Textbook Division and Developing Projects Manager, Mario manages and coordinates special projects, provides tour support, and coordinates teacher training.

Juan Augusto Bal
Administrative Coordinator

• Former Administrative Director at various public schools
• Former Administrative Coordinator, Guatemalan Ministry of Education (Chimaltenango)
• Coursework in Pedagogy, History and Mathematics at San Carlos University, Guatemala

As Administrative Coordinator, Juan Augusto manages the Textbook Program and oversees the Textbook Program team, while also providing administrative support.

Rolando Yool 
Field Representative

• Former Director & Administrative Coordinator of Radio Sistema Tezulutlán, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala

As a Field Representative, Rolando is responsible for monitoring Textbook Program activities and providing tour support.

José María Raymundo 
Field Representative & Scholarship Program Coordinator 

• 12 years experience with non-governmental organizations, including SHARE and CARE Guatemala
• Former primary school teacher
• Graduate of San Carlos University (MA, Agronomy)

As a Field Representative and Scholarship Program Coordinator, José María is responsible for monitoring Textbook Program activities and providing tour support.  He also manages the Scholarship Program and monitors Scholarship Program activities.

Miltón Eduardo Ramos Méndez
Field Representative

• Six years experience as a primary school teacher
• Studying Human Rights at San Carlos University, Guatemala City
• Graduate of Mesoamericana University, Guatemala City (BA, Philosophy)

As a Field Representative, Miltón is responsible for monitoring Textbook Program activities and providing tour support.  He also provides support for the Culture of Reading Program.

Francisco Santos
Field Representative

• Graduate of San Carlos University, Guatemala (BA, Pedagogy)

As a Field Representative, Francisco is responsible for monitoring Textbook Program activities and providing tour support.

Howard Lobb
Director of Technology Programs & Communications

• Graduate of Valparaiso University (BS, Mechanical Engineering, 1991)
• Experience implementing development projects in Guatemala since 1999

As Director of Technology Programs & Communications, Howard is responsible for overall management of the Computer Centers Program. He handles program design, implementation, and assessment, as well as external communications and relations.

Mario Torres

• 10 years technology experience, including computer systems and management of IT departments
• Graduate of Harding University in Searcy, AR (BA, Business Administration: Computer Information Systems, 2000)

As Associate Manager, Mario is responsible for technical support. He also serves as advisor to the Computer Centers Program.

Miguel Quinteros
Financial Specialist

As Financial Specialist, Miguel is responsible for budget creation and monitoring, compliance and reporting, and management of the Computer Centers’ revolving fund.

As a Computer Center Supervisor, Ángel is responsible for center operations involving administrative, pedagogical, and technical management. He also prepares computers for installation in new centers.

Silvio Herrera

As a Computer Center Supervisor, Silvio is responsible for center operations involving administrative, pedagogical, and technical management. He also prepares computers for installation in new centers.

As Computer Technician, Mario is responsible for technical support for the Computer Centers, computer equipment inventory control, and maintenance on computers in the Guatemala office.
