And just like that, another year has flown by! In 2025, we reached even more students, schools, and communities, deepening and expanding the pathways out of poverty. With the work we achieved in 2025, we know that 2026 holds many more exciting things ahead. So, as we ring in the new year and look forward to the impact we’ll make in 2026, join us in celebrating what our program teams, students, and teachers accomplished last year with your support!

Reading

Spark Program

Over the course of 2025, we delivered more than 8,000 books to Spark teachers, filling classroom libraries with important resources.

12 schools started the Spark training process, which included 93 teachers who began their first year of learning the fundamentals of Spark methodology.

These new trainees brought us to a total of 198 Spark teachers and other education professionals in training.

We closed out the year with a graduation ceremony for Spark teachers who completed their training and go on to impact generations of students!

“As a teacher, I am deeply grateful for being part of this program, as I have always dreamed of creating a library in my classroom with age-appropriate reading books for the children. Promoting the habit of reading strengthens concentration, nourishes the imagination, and exercises the brain. It has multiple benefits that students in the municipality of Santiago Sacatepéquez are already developing.”

—Evelin, Spark teacher

Textbook Program

We inaugurated 2 new schools into the Textbook Program in 2025!

As a part of this process, we purchased 1,512 books purchased for 236 students at these schools.

Now, there are 178 schools participating in the Textbook Program with 180 teachers who are trained by our team on pedagogy using the textbooks.

“It’s an excellent program because it supports both student and teacher learning. These are innovations that are implemented to encourage students to use their imagination and creativity.”

-Evelyn, Textbook teacher

Technology

We also created a new computer center last year! At this school, our Technology Program team trained 6 teachers, who have since been providing education in technology skills to 122 students.

With this addition, we now have 57 computer centers total supported by CoEd’s Technology Program.

Our Technology Team has also been working on supporting our Rise Team through technology skill training for students in the Rise Program!

Graduation

Rise Program

Last year, we welcomed 300 new students into the Rise Program! 76% (or 877) of these students are young women making a huge difference in the gender gaps of education and graduation rates in Guatemala.

Plus, we began a collaboration with Impact Hub Antigua to pilot the Employment Hub, a series of workshops for Rise students and recent Rise graduates to develop career readiness skills.

At the end of the year, we celebrated 137 graduates from the Rise Program!

CFM School and Casa Sofia

And in 2025, we took on an exciting new addition to CoEd: CFM School and Casa Sofia!

In November, 9 students at CFM School celebrated their graduation from diversificado (high school) and 3 students celebrated their graduation from básico (middle school).

In the upcoming years, CoEd will make exciting progress towards expanding the three pathways out of poverty to CFM School and Casa Sofia as part of our Impact Initiative. Learn more about our plans here.

Thank you for another great year of supporting students in Guatemala as they break the cycle of poverty through education. Your generosity makes our mission possible, and we couldn’t be prouder to work alongside supporters like you.
